Romans 8:24-25

For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. Romans 8:24-25

Wait for it patiently? Really?  In this world of access to almost all information at our fingertips, Amazon same-day delivery, on-demand streaming video, and instant gratification, patience is looked upon as an unnecessary annoyance. Even my tech-challenged husband doesn’t hesitate to whip out his smart phone to look up some random factoid.

But, God expects us to follow His timeline, not ours. It seems, sometimes, that His timeline is excruciatingly slow and it's natural to want things right now!. So, how can we learn to wait patiently for God’s time? First, remember that God will keep His promises. He has shown this time after time. Second, ask God for help in being patient. And, lastly, don't beat yourself up for your impatience. It's a normal, human emotion and it takes practice to keep it at bay.
