Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
1 Peter 5:7
One time, someone who reported to me confided in me that she was unable to move forward with a project I'd assigned because she was so worried about what might go wrong. I knew that the assignment would be a challenge for her, but I'd assured her that I was there to help, if needed. So, I had been frustrated with her lack of progress. My immediate reaction to her confession was "Why didn't you talk to me before now? I can help!"
I can just hear God saying the same thing to me when I fret over details. "Talk to me, Nancy! I can help!"
Do you remember, as a child, being afraid of the dark? Thinking about things unseen can really rev up a child's imagination! And we never seem to imagine unicorns and puppy dogs are lurking in the dark corners of the room - it's always monsters! But do you also remember how much better you felt when you told your mom or dad about your fears and they assured you that they would keep you safe?
That's exactly how it is when you talk to God about your worries. Knowing that you don't have to face those dark corners by yourself brings such relief and comfort! And it makes God happy, too. He doesn't want you to waste energy on worrying. He is more than capable of taking over those cares!
Don't try to handle everything yourself. God is much more capable of dealing with your worries than you are.
